We’ve all dated, married, or lived with someone we love that just doesn’t get into the whole idea of taking care of his skin. Men are tough, stubborn, and overall just hard-headed when it comes to things that are mainly talked about by women. Men do not like to grasp ideas that are foreign to them, and they certainly don’t like to be told what to do.
So how do you give your man the hint that he needs to take better care of his skin?
There are several ways to do this, so I will start with a few suggestions and you can choose the best method based on how you feel your man will react. After all, you know him best and can attest to his prior and current skin care experiences.
- Subtle hint method: Buy a product that you KNOW he will enjoy and use, and slip it into the area where he keeps his other toiletries. Sometimes a subtle hint like that will bring him to say “Oh, thanks for that eye cream. It worked really well. Why did you do that?” He may enjoy it and use it constantly. However, the key will be how fast he uses it and IF he asks you where he can get another one.
- Gifting method: Take an event where a gift is expected and throw in some skin care products as a secondary gift. This can be easily incorporated into a Fathers Day gift or a Birthday gift. Men like it when their loved one takes care of their personal appearance needs and does the buying for them.
- Sexy Mention Method: There are several ways you can pitch this one to him. It could start with an advertisement on television that has a man with fantastic skin, and telling him how sexy it is to have great skin. He may not react well to this as he may be jealous of your mention of the advertisement’s model, so keep that in mind. You can also tell him “you know how sexy your face is? You need to take care of it now so it will be this smooth later in life.” This can lead into a great conversation where you can bring up the fact that he needs to use an anti-wrinkle cream or another daily lotion to keep his face smooth and sexy.
However you bring up the subject is up to you. However, you need to keep in mind that it is in YOUR best interest to keep your man’s skin smooth and sexy, and you need to convey the message that it is important to you that he takes care of his skin. There are several skin care products men will use. The main thing you need to remember is that men do not enjoy using systems of products. They will use one skin care product and use it religiously rather than follow a step-by-step skin care routine and go that route. Men are into simplicity and taking things in stride. They would much rather have a simple product to apply to their skin instead of getting confused and eventually, giving up, on an entire skin care system.
