Don’t Forget Your Skin on the 4th of July
As many of us branch out and get together with family and friends in celebration for a wonderful day in America, we often spend countless hours outdoors in the hot sun. Whether you are in Miami or Mississippi, St. Louis or St. Paul, the sun is at it’s hottest around the 4th of July. It doesn’t take a skin care expert to tell you that the sun emits dangerous UV rays that can harm the skin for years on end and even cause wrinkles. Here are some common sense tips for you and the family to heed to this 4th of July.
If you find yourself outdoors, cover yourself with the best spf sunblock you have. If you don’t own sunblock, don’t make the mistake of passing over it and discounting what it can do for your skin. Sunblock is the best way to avoid wrinkles. The exposure to the sun you will have on this day WILL impact your skin, it’s just a matter of when you will start to realize it. Don’t forget the kids, as their skin, although young, is impacted in the same manner that ours is.
Make sure you always think forward. Use a daily moisturizer directly after being exposed to the sun. A daily moisturizer will not only moisturize your skin, but help heal it from any wounds or burns the sun has created during this day of blazing sun.
Most people are outside for hours on end. Personally, I do a lot of picnics and outdoor games with my family on this day. A bbq is essential, and at the end of the day it seems everyone is a little rosy red after too much time in the sun combined with a few two many Corona’s! It can take a tool on the body, and make us tired. Drink plenty of water. This is part of a daily overall weight loss and health routine, but it’s especially important on this day of sun and cocktails.
If you heed to these tips and follow them verbatim, you can allow yourself the luxury of not having so many wrinkles when you get older. As someone who does a lot of counseling on skin care and wrinkle prevention, I know that it sounds like very obvious advice. However, the more you work on your routines and habits today, the less facial wrinkles and skin problems you will have in the future.
That said, everybody have a happy Friday and a very merry 4th of July Holiday. Be safe please!
