Summer Skin Care Tips
Summer can be a great time to sit back, relax, and enjoy a few cold beverages with friends and family in a beautiful setting. If you are from the Northern States of the United States, or any part of the world that does not generally have a tropical climate year-round, you certainly appreciate the warmth that summer brings.
However, as fun as the summer can be, with all of the outdoor activities, including golf, tennis, and softball, it can do some serious damage to our skin and even cause wrinkles to form. Today I will share with you some very general yet practical skin care tips that will help you keep your skin looking fresh, strong, and healthy.
1. Always use the best sunblock you have access to. Sunblock will protect your skin from the sun and it’s harmful UV rays. The same sun that helps you obtain a golden tan also causes wrinkling on your skin. Whether you are spending ten minutes or two hours outside, you need to use sunblock.
2. Stay hydrated. This is one aspect of skin care that most people do not pay attention to. Hydration is the key to the bodies success. It not only helps the bodies physical condition, but it helps the skin stay healthy and keep it’s natural glow. Especially in the summer months, when many alcoholic beverages are consumed, water takes on a whole new role in the bodies operating procedure. Your body needs hydration, and so do your skin cells.
3. Staying on the topic of skin and moisture, the skin needs to see daily application of a good moisturizing cream. Quite possibly the easiest yet most overlooked skin care tip I have is to apply a good moisturizer after each time you take a shower.
4. I suggest that if you are age thirty or older, you take a long look at anti aging creams. Anti-wrinkle creams, eye creams, eye serums, and even neck & chest creams are great ways to get the skin looking healthy & smooth. Firming the skin and helping it look better as opposed to leaving it old, wrinkly, and weathered will pay dividends in the summer months when people are seeing you in less clothes than normal. The best skin care tip I can give to people is “don’t forget the v-zone.” The area from your chest and up to your neck is an area that ages at the same rate as your face, and it’s important that it is treated in the same manner.
Remember, summertime is a time for enjoying the weather. Don’t let the weather get the best of you. Protect yourself from the scorching sun each summer, and you will look years younger than your peers as you reach your golden years. Keep those tips in mind this summer, and be sure to always be safe.
