Every Girl Needs Staples!

Many busy moms waste precious time by making needless trips to the grocery store to buy staples – a running staples list with a note made when you run out of a key item will save loads of time. We suggest using a magnetized list of staples kept on your frig – when an item is low, make a note to replenish it during your regularly scheduled trip to the store or online order.

The staples we suggest always keeping on hand are:

• Milk
• Olive Oil and Vegetable Oil
• Spaghetti
• Egg noodles
• Salt
• Pepper
• Flour
• Sugar
• Eggs
• Worchestershire sauce
• Lemon Juice
• Shortening
• Tea and Coffee
• Chicken Broth
• Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken Soups
• Canned button mushrooms
• Onions
• Potatoes
• A1 Sauce
• Ketchup
• Mustard
• Mayo
• Common spices such as cinnamon, oregano, thyme, basil, and bay leaves
• Eggs
• Bread
• Cornstarch
• Cornmeal
• Rice
• Beans or Lentils
• Luncheon meat
• Cheese

If you have these basics on hand at all times, you will never be at a loss for something to fix quickly! Also, nothing is worse than having company coming and finding out that you are out of something for a time critical recipe – like a soufflé or pudding.

About Admin

As a Christian mom of 3, I am always finding new ways to help the busy mommy. Our life on our small farm in East Tennessee affords me the opportunity to appreciate the value of hard work, family, and all that has been given to us. As some may know though, life on a farm is always busy. The Busy Moms blog was created as a place to share the lessons I learn for mothers much like myself. It takes a community to raise a family and the blogging community offers this community. Share with me your stories of being a Busy Mom and tips you have found along the way.
