Winter weather arrives and it is just too cold for the kids to play and continue outdoor activities. It is not unusual for families to spend less time together in winter months, family time seems to hibernate. Finding fun family activities everyone will enjoy can be easy and does not have to be expensive.
Movie Night
Get the popcorn popped! It is movie time! As a family go through your own movie library and pick a movie you have not seen in a while. There are also several inexpensive ways to rent new releases you have not seen yet. You can also visit your local library where rentals are free.
Game Night
Sometimes the best family entertainment is playing games together. Pull out the board games and dust off the deck of cards. Teach the kids a new game or let them teach you one. Playing together on a gaming consoles like the Wii, XBOX 360 or PlayStation can also be a fun way to spend a great evening!
Cooking and Baking Night
Turn an ordinary night into a fun bake night. Make sure you have the ingredients in advance. Make a family pizza or let everyone make their own pizza using english muffins or biscuits. Bake your family’s favorite cookies for desert. If you want to try something new and different the internet is a great place to find new recipes.
The point is to keep your family engaged and spend quality time together even in the winter months. Just have fun!
