Spring Break on a Budget
Yes! It is spring break, finally! Wait, can we really afford to go on a vacation? The budget is tight for many families this year but that does not mean your family has to suffer and miss out on a little spring break getaway. There are several ideas for fun, inexpensive, budget friendly trips your family can enjoy without breaking the bank.
Visit family
Spring break is the perfect time to go see family you have not seen in a while. Before you go research the area for places to visit like the zoo, amusement park, children’s museum, hands on science museum, aquarium or state park. Do not forget to offer to host the family you are visiting the next time they are in your neck of the woods.
Share the expenses
Plan a trip with another family you are close with. Share the cost of a condo and food for a few days. You can even babysit one night for each other to get a special date night.
Go for free
Before spring break approaches research towns close by for freebies. Most state parks are free except for perhaps a parking pass for the day and the kids would have the best time going on a nature hike, fishing and enjoying a picnic. Many zoos and museums offer a free day to visit during breaks.
Use coupons
Look online for coupon codes that your family can use. The coupons range from hotel discounts to attraction discounts to restaurant discounts. You may get a night free with 2 nights at a hotel, dollars off entrance into amusement parks and museums or a percentage off a total bill at a restaurant.
Enjoy Spring Break this year!
