Fish Vs. Meat
If we have a BBQ in my family, the cook always knows to buy salmon for me instead of hamburger. Not only is it more delicious, but it has FAR more health benefits. The health benefits of eating fish will make you think twice next time you are deciding what’s for dinner.
Fish is an excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acids. The American Heart association recommends at least two servings of fish a week. This helps prevent heart disease, lowers blood pressure, and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.
We need Omega-3 fatty acids, but our bodies do not naturally produce them on its own. Good choices for these fatty acids are salmon, tuna, oysters, crab, perch, and trout. They aid in short term memory.
Vitamins such as iron, zinc, potassium, calcium and magnesium are also found in fish.
However, many people eat meat instead, depriving their bodies of these essential nutrients.
Making fish is simple, and there a LOT of easy recipes out there.
My favorite is grilled salmon.
All you do is saute it with butter and lemon, and cook it on the grill until it flakes.
Add more lemon on top and you have yourself a fabulous meal full of Omega-3 fatty acids!
Now go eat some fish and enjoy!
