Valentine’s Day Alone? Pamper Yourself With Self Love

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. As the year’s most celebrated day of love, it can be miserable if you don’t have a Valentine to share it with. According to AskMen.com, more than 30 million Americans spend Valentine’s Day alone. Whether you are newly single, divorced, widowed, or just have a hard time finding a special someone, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a depressing day. It can be lots of fun if you decide to – love yourself.

A day of self-pampering can make the day enjoyable and may even put you back in the game. Here are five ways to love and pamper yourself:

1.  Treat yourself.

Schedule a luxurious spa treatment day. Not only will you feel relaxed, you will look refreshed.  It can be the beginning of a new trend of taking care of yourself.  As you look forward to your day of pampering, you might find all the feeling blue change to excitement and anticipation of your special Valentine’s gift to yourself.

2.  Date Night In With A Movie and Popcorn

Watch new and favorite romantic movies with your favorite snack, a new pair of soft pajamas, and of course a box of tissues. Some of my favorites are:

3.  Spend Time With a Great Friend

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about romantic love. If you have a friend or a relative who will also be alone on Valentine’s Day, invite them to dinner and movie. Spend time catching up and enjoying each other’s company.

4.  Who Says You Can’t Send Yourself Flowers?

Who doesn’t love fresh flowers?  The smell, beauty and elegance of a bouquet will brighten anyone’s mood.  Why not go the whole way and buy Godiva chocolates, and a bottle of champagne.  The best part is YOU DON’T HAVE TO SHARE!  You must love and celebrate yourself before you can offer true love to another person.

5.  My Personal Favorite is a MASSAGE

Don’t wait call a massage therapist right now!  You will never regret this gift.  A massage is an affordable pleasure, you can find specials in your area online and even schedule the amount of time you can afford without breaking the bank.  Massages are not just for Hollywood socialites anymore, they are a essential part of keeping your body healthy and young.  It can reduce stress, remove toxins in the body, and keep your muscles supple, so you will feel 20 years younger.  There are many different types and styles of massages available, you will have to try out many before finding what works best for you.  For more information on the types available, check out Web MD’s guide to massage.

Take the time to pamper and love yourself. You are worth it!  Happy Valentine’s Day!
