Wii Fit is the title of a disc that comes with the Wii Balance Board. Many gamers already have the Nintendo $250 Wii. The disc and board cost $90.

Sensors in the balance board discover the user’s weight, body mass index, balancing skills and positioning capabilities. The unit holds the user accountable for weight and balance skills. After the balance exercise, it calculates your Wii Fit age.

The system includes various types of yoga, strength training, aerobics and balancing games, which involve on-screen representations of yourself that interact with trainers and other virtual characters. Almost all activities involve standing on or touching the board. Health tips are provided throughout the program.

Two or more people can use the system, and their information can be password protected. If a guest uses the board, the system recognizes it and tells them it’s OK to continue. The board turns off automatically after standing idle for five minutes.

Wii Fit can be used right out of the box. It includes four AA batteries.

The exercises are good for those who are not especially fit because programs are short. Those who are already fit may have to do the program’s 40-plus activities more than once in a session, but it’s still beneficial and entertaining.

The virtual fitness coach is valuable for increasing motivation. It knows the users’ weight-loss goals and encourages their progress, praising them for doing well at various times.

The activities encourage all kinds of people to use the system, making it another winner for [nmslink:Nintendo, Nintendo].
