Vegetarian Cream of Peas Soup
This is an extremely easy to do soup that your family will love.
Ingredients:
-1 lb green split peas
-1 medium onion
-2 medium carrots
-3-4 cloves of garlic
-salt to taste (I used one spoon)
-3 spoons of vegetable oil
-sprinkle of dill weed
Clean and rinse split peas, add 6-8 cups of water, and place on the stove. While the water is heating up, clean the carrots, onion, and garlic cloves and add them to the pot.
Simmer for about 40 to 45 minutes, until liquid becomes thick, add salt and oil, and leave on the stove for about 5 more minutes, while stirring occasionally.
Take the pot off the stove, blend everything and return to the pot. Add a sprinkle of dill weed, mix, and you are ready to eat, next to a god sandwich.
Extra: if you want the bacon taste, you can add some striplets just before you eat.
Enjoy!

Kids’ Crafts for Valentine’s Day
(ARA) - On Valentine’s Day, flowers are traded just like hugs and kisses. So, this year, have your child create a unique Valentine’s Day arrangement for someone special. Flowers have the power to make us feel good and arranging them can also help children’s creativity bloom. “Armed with a couple of tricks of the trade and some original ideas for vases, even young children can turn simple blossoms into a beautiful arrangement,” says Julie McCann Mulligan, floral expert at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM.
Your child can make a colorful vase using crayons. Yes, crayons. These little vases make great gifts for Grandma, or your favorite teacher. Almost any flower will work as long as they have smallish blossoms. Begin with an empty soup can filled with wet floral foam, found in most craft stores. Place a rubber band around the can, midway up the can. Insert the crayons point-side-up behind the rubber band, one by one, until they cover the can. To conceal the rubber band, twist pipe cleaners over it. Push short flower stems into the floral foam to arrange, placing the tallest ones at the center and fanning out from there.
It’s that simple and the recipient will love it. Log on to 1800flowers.com on the Web for beautiful Valentine’s Day gifts such as the Lotsa Love arrangement, featuring the freshest flowers and a cuddly plush!
