4 cups sugar
8 large eggs
12 mashed ripe bananas
8 cups flour

2 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup milk 1 T vanilla extract

Spoon batter into muffin tins, filling 3/4 of the way full. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 - 17 minutes.

Spiderman Birthday Theme Party Ideas

May 7, 2007

Setting up a spider man themed birthday party is very simple, easy, and lots of fun to do too. Plus the kids at the party will have a blast, and your child will be a hero for weeks to come!

First you’ll need some great decorations. An easy way to do this is simply buy paper plates, napkins and cups with pictures on them.

Visit a halloween shop in your local area or find a good one online, and buy spider web material to hang around the walls and ceiling. While you’re there, get plenty of plastic or rubber spiders for decoration, games, and to give as party gifts too.

Hang red and blue streamers around, and lots of red and blue balloons too!

Next you’ll want to prepare some awesome spiderman games, food and treats. It’s easy to make a spider web cake: Just bake a regular round cake and put white frosting on it. Then use chocolate frosting, or black food coloring in white frosting, and start making a circle in the center. Continue outwards in a spiral design until you get to the edge of the cake. Then take a toothpick and starting from the center, drag it straight to the outside. Do this several inches apart all the way around the cake and you’ll have a spiderweb!

This is easy to do with cookies and cupcakes too. If you do it with cupcakes, try topping it off in the center with a plastic spider ring the kids can take home as a party favor.

For cool super hero drinks, try putting pop rocks into glasses of sprite.

Invitations for your spider man party can be made easily too. Just cut some white card stock into an octagon shape, then draw straight lines from the middle of the card, to each corner of your octagon. Then connect each line with a straight line and you’ll have a web. You can even put your child’s initial in the very center of the web for an added personal touch!

Another excellent idea for creating spider man party invitations, is to cut out pieces of comic books or comic strips, paste them to white card stock, blank out the words inside the talk bubbles, then put your own words in. Make copies of the finished version on more card stock, then send those as personalized invitations with the party details.

For fun stuff to do at your spiderman party, try letting the kids all make their own take home placemats or wall pictures. Print out a spiderman coloring page from the web, then make copies of it. Give one to each child at the party, along with plenty of crayons or markers. You can even supply them with , stars, and cut out spiderman words like “POW!” in little bubbles.

Cut pieces of cardboard the same size as the coloring pages, and pieces of clear contact paper slightly larger than each coloring page. When the kids are finished decorating their pages, help them glue them onto a piece of cardboard, then cover it with the clear contact paper. Be sure to put their name on the picture before covering, or put it on the back of the cardboard. Then glue or tape a piece of string on the back for an easy hanger!

Other fun and easy ideas for making your spiderman party the best: Give each kid their own to take home, or have a face painter do all the kids up to look like spiderman using face paints. Alternatively, just get some simple wash off tattoos of spiders and webs!

Organize your kitchen junk drawer and save time

May 1, 2007

You probably have a kitchen drawer that holds a lot of small items. Problem is, unless you’ve organized it, you’ll spend a lot of time searching for things that are supposed to be handy.

You’re a step ahead if your drawer is divided into three or four sections. If it isn’t, buy some inexpensive, drawer-length and fit them into the drawer. Here’s one way to organize your stuff:

-Use one section to hold batteries for your flashlight, remote control, clock, and calculator. Add a flashlight.

-The second section can hold tools you need for minor repairs. Include screw drivers, pliers, a wire cutter, a tack hammer, and a .

-Use the third section for a small roll of duct tape, scissors, glue, and a can of WD-40 for squeaky doors.

-The last section is the all-important kitchen mailing center. It holds stamps, a few , pens, and return address labels, maybe a scratch pad.

Many people keep mailing supplies in their desks, but they will bring an envelope into the kitchen and have to go back for a stamp or a label.
